Reolink Floodlight 4K Smart PoE and WiFi 6 security cameras add on-device LLM for natural language video search

Reolink has introduced the Elite Floodlight WiFi and Elite Pro Floodlight PoE, two new 4K security cameras with high-resolution video, integrated floodlights, PoE support (on the Pro model), and an on-device Large Language Model (LLM), which enables natural-language video search instead of basic object detection. We have reviewed various Reolink cameras over the years, such as the Argus PT Ultra, Reolink TrackMix PoE, and the RLC-810A, which features “Smart Detection” to the edge, allowing the camera to distinguish between people, vehicles, and pets without sending data to the cloud. However, they are limited to those fixed categories, and if you wanted to find something specific, like a “red shirt” or a “delivery truck,” you still had to scroll through the timeline manually, or rely on a networked video recorder (NVR). Nearly four years ago, I reviewed the solar-powered Reolink Argus PT pan-and-tilt security camera. The device worked (and still works) mostly fine, but it was at a time when security cameras did not implement AI features like people and vehicle detection just yet relying only on PIR motion sensors so I’d get plenty of false positives. The WiFi connection is not overly reliable either especially when I tried to access the camera from outside my house, something that does not happen with the PoE and 4G LTE models from the company. Reolink E1 Outdoor Pro 4K smart security camera supports WiFi 6 connectivity

Reolink E1 Outdoor Pro is a 4K smart security camera with PTZ and auto-tracking like the Reolink TrackMix, but instead of relying on PoE or WiFi 4/5, the camera comes with WiFi 6 connectivity for a faster and more stable network connection with less latency. Most of the WiFi security cameras I’ve been using come with 2.4GHz WiFi 4, and I’ve found connectivity to the solar-powered Reolink security cameras I’ve been using to be somewhat unreliable with difficulty connecting to them through the mobile app, although uploads to the cloud don’t suffer from those issues. So I typically prefer PoE or 4G LTE security cameras since the connectivity is more stable, but Reolink E1 Outdoor Pro security camera’s WiFi 6 support could help depending on the environment. Reolink TrackMix PoE review – A smart 4K PTZ security camera with two lenses, auto-tracking

Reolink has launched another 4K PTZ smart security with human and vehicle detection, plus pet detection (Beta). The Reolink TrackMix PoE comes with two lenses, one with a wide-angle, and the other telephoto lens to zoom on a specific zone, and supports auto-tracking. I’ve had the camera for a few months so I’ll report on my experience with the device. KEEN Ranger PT 4G LTE camera supports animal and human detection

I’ve tested a few security cameras with human and vehicle detection capabilities, but Reolink has now added animal detection via the KEEN Ranger PT trail camera mostly designed to monitor four-legged animals in the wild. Reolink Go Plus 4G review – Part 2: A Solar-powered 4G LTE security camera with person & vehicle detection

Last month, I received Reolink Go Plus 4G smart security camera with 4G LTE connectivity, vehicle/human detection support, and powered by a solar panel. In the first part of the review, I did an unboxing, added the camera to the Reolink Android app, and confirmed it worked with my DTAC SIM card. I’ve now installed the camera and had time to test more of its features, so I can report my experience with the security camera.
