LM-902 USB3.1 Gen2 to NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD Enclosure Sells for $43

Yesterday, I wrote about ASMedia ASM2362 USB 3.1 Gen2 to PCIe NVMe SSD chip that will allow for connecting NVMe SSD into (largish) USB stick enclosures delivering up to 10 Gbps raw throughput. The post generated several comments including that JMicron Technology was also showcasing their own solution at Computex 2018 with JMS583 USB 3.1 Gen 2 to NVMe PCIe Gen3 bridge controller, and that enclosures were already for sale in China. If it is for sale in China, it should also be for sale on Aliexpress, or at least on Taobao. Bingo! LM-902 “USB 3.1 to PCI-e SSD NVMe” enclosure offers just that for $42.93 including shipping on Aliexpress. e-con Systems Introduces a 4K Multi-Camera System for NVIDIA Jetson TX1/TX2 Boards

Last year, e-con Systems launched a 360° Camera Kit for NVIDIA Jetson TX1/TX2 boards that featured 6 cameras capable of recording or streaming 1080p30 each in real-time. ASM2362 USB 3.1 Gen2 to PCIe Chip is Designed for USB NVMe SSD Drives

Most USB enclosure or expansion drive are designed with a SATA interface that tops out at 6 Gbp. That’s fine in most cases, but if your host computer comes with USB 3.1 Gen2 SuperSpeed 10 Gbps (SuperSpeed+) port capable of even better performance, ASMedia now has a solution for faster USB drives with their ASM2362 USB 3.1 Gen2 to PCIe NVMe SSD chip. The solution is pretty new, and ASMedia has not setup a product page on their website yet, but they showcased a demo at Computex 2018. Zidoo X20 High-End 4K Media Player Launched for $486 and Up

Unveiled last January, Zidoo X20 Pro is a high-end Android + Linux (OpenWrt) media player powered by Realtek RTD1296 media processor, and equipped with three HDMI ports, two SATA bays, ES9038 professional DAC, and more. IC Nexus SBC3100 Rockchip RK3399 SBC Supports Variable DC Input (9 to 36V)

Earlier this year, we got flooded with announcements for new Rockchip RK3399 SBC’s or development boards with products like RockPro64 or Orange Pi RK3399. Close Up Photos of UDOO Bolt Ryzen Embedded V1000 Development Board

The first AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 development board – UDOO Bolt – was launched on Kickstarter last week, but for whatever reasons, the company did not provide close up photos of the board. But luckily for us, TLS – regular reader & commenter, and occasional contributor for CNX Software – is now at Computex 2018 and spent some time at UDOO’s booth where he took time to take some photos and share with us. The top view of the board shows the two SO-DIMM slots and Ryzen Embedded processor, as well as an better looks at the ports and headers around the boards. The board should support up to 4 displays via its two HDMI 2.0a ports, and two USB type C ports with DP alternate mode. MediaTek Helio M70 5G Modem to Launch in 2019

5G cellular technology is now being tested, and the first deployment should start next year (2019) in some countries. We’ve also seen 5G cellular modems or 5G capable SoCs with products such as Qualcomm Snadragon X50, Huawei Balong 5G01, NXP QorIQ LA1575, or MIPS I7200, as well as 5G indoor small cells from Ericsson. Unsurprisingly, MediaTek has also been working on their 5G solution, and one of their first product will be Helio M70 5G Modem. MediaTek gas already collaborated with Nokia, NTT Docomo, China Mobile (CMCC), Huawei and others companies, and Helio M70 5G radio modem is compatible with 3GPP Release 15, supports data rates up to 5Gbps, as well as “critical carrier features”. Helio M70 will be fabricated using TSMC’s 7nm process (EUV technology), and shipments are expected to start in 2019.
