Ugoos UT4 TV Box Giveaway

Ugoos UT4 is an actively cooled Android TV box powered by Rockchip RK3368 octa-core processor, and I did notice a better overall performance in my review compared to other RK3368 mini PCs I tested. However, I did find some issues, such as power off not working properly, a lack of DRM support, Kodi video and audio capabilities could be improved and so on. Since the review, Ugoos released two firmware updates fixing several of the issues I noticed during my testing, and the company has asked me if I could organize a giveaway for one Ugoos UT4, so here it is.

I’ve organized the giveaway a little differently, as I’ll use Rafflecopter form below with three options, each optional, but if you do all three you’ll get more chances to win. The contest will run for 4 days until February 15 10am (GMT+7), I’ll select the winner randomly rthrough RaffleCopter, and expect an answer within 24 hours or I’ll select another winner. Ugoos will them ship the device to the winner free of charge, and the contest is open worldwide.

  1. Why would you want the device?

as currently i dont have a good android device i am using a WD TV which sucks big time.

  2. it asked to leave comment but i wasn’t able to do this, – the field was read-only. (That in the form, where the question “why you want this device” supposed to have been answered, was placed). so I answer here – I want to program it. Doing some low level programming. it’s for my own project but maybe it will somewhat work out and be usable by others. I am beginning with tryout on making UEFI implementation, and then if it works, my gain is creating my own OS, NT-like. So it’s crazy but inetersting. and, of course, I need plenty of machines, with such goals, so this givaway is right for me. Thanks in advance!

  3. Wow, another powerful rockchip. I used previous one – rk3288 and it works great. Now I would like to try new rockchip.

  4. Would love to see what new firmware updates UGOOS comes up with.
They always support their devices even after other manufacturers abandon similar devices very early.

  5. I already own rk3188, and like it, but still suffer from the lack of support from other supplier. I think ugoos support is excellent.

  6. RK3368 is getting quite popular now, hope to test it. The X265 decoding cannot do 10 bits encoded media? Is it true?

  7. Ugoos are expensive,I think I’ll use my MxQPro-40 bucks from Geekbuying.I don’t know about RK 3229,but for 30 bucks it’s insane-hope it isn’t hot as hell like Allwinner H3.

  8. I would use such a mini PC for media streaming at my parents home. They need something capable but simple to use, with no hassles…

And from what I heard, Ugoos is a brand which consistently provides software updates to its devices – and that’s very important!

  9. Why would i want this?

Because my current Linux rig, as nice as it is, is too power-hungry, and I would like something that powers up faster and runs leaner and quieter.

  10. I only have an android stick because I can’t afford at the moment a good android box, It’d be nice if I won such a thing. Even so, keep posting articles as I always take a good chuck of my tech therapy from CNX. :-]

  11. I would like to use this with my bedroom TV. Seeing how I only have a raspberry pi zero plugged into it at the moment.

  12. The hardware seems interesting and atleast as capable as the Pi2. I’d be interested in how it handles more background tasks while still pushing Kodi. How much ram does this one have?

  13. Personally I use fireTV stick to run Kodi, but I’m missing all of the other features that the android OS has to offer. It would be great to have the Ugoos UT4 TV Box!

  14. I would like this bad boy! At last a device which has some serious power. If the software is brought up to speed we have a winner on our hands. My experience with the ut3s has my hopes up seriously for this device. On paper all the flaws have been tackled, so yeah, I’ll have this one please:-)

  15. Just starting to convert a dvd collection, need something to replace an old NowTV box before testing final formats.

Going to read more of the blog, lots of useful testing info, especially like the audio output details.

  16. I use Android for all my computer use now, but my old HTC is barely adequate as an HDMI computer. I am building an Android AI via Tasker and I want it to work seamlessly over all my devices.

  17. Wow, I am looking forward to win this because my old t-r42 box stopped working suddenly few days ago. No cables, no TV, nothing to entertain the family. And this box rocks as reviews tell me.

  18. I’d like to to see how smooth the playing of video/ streaming (1080P and 4K) compare to Amlogic s802/s905 on Kodi/FMC (Freedom Media Center).
