Forlinx OK153-S12 Mini – A low-cost Allwinner T153 SBC with Raspberry Pi GPIO header and long-term availability

OK153 S12 Mini SBC

Forlinx has introduced the OK153-S12 Mini, an Allwinner T153 SBC/development board, which looks to be a low-cost version of the OK153-S SBC that we previously covered. It keeps the same FET153-S SoM, but swaps the industrial terminal blocks, mini PCIe, and some other interfaces for a more compact footprint and a Raspberry Pi-compatible 40-pin header. The SBC supports up to 1 GB of DDR3 memory, up to 512 MB of NAND flash or 8 GB eMMC flash, and also features a microSD card slot for storage. Other interfaces include two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB Type-C ports for power, data, and debugging, and a USB 2.0 host port. Display is supported via an RGB LCD interface with backlight control via PWM. Other features include mono audio line-out via a 3.5mm headphone jack, multiple GPIOs, and buttons for reset, download, and user input, along with various status LEDs, and a 40-pin […]

Forlinx FET1126Bx-S low-power Rockchip RV1126BJ industrial SoM powers SBC with 40-pin GPIO header

Forlinx FET1126BJ S Industrial SoM

Forlinx has recently released the FET1126Bx-S, a low-power SoM, which is based on the Rockchip RV1126B (commercial) or RV1126BJ (industrial) SoC. Designed for edge AI applications, the module is suitable for smart cameras, AIoT gateways, and intelligent monitoring systems where local video analytics, low power consumption, and long-term stability are required. It is easy to confuse the newer RV1126B/RV1126BJ with the original Rockchip RV1126, a 32-bit Cortex-A7-based SoC announced around 2020–2021. However, the newer RV1126B/BJ comes with a significant architectural upgrade with a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor (instead of the original 32-bit quad-core Cortex-A7) and a more powerful 3.0 TOPS NPU (up from 2.0 TOPS). This updated chip has only recently started appearing in products like Luckfox Aura SBC, Boardcon MINI1126B-P SoM (based on the RV1126B-P), GL.iNet Comet PoE, and GL.iNet Comet Pro KVMs, all of which were released just this year. This makes the FET1126Bx-S SoM one of the […]

Forlinx Embedded has recently released the FCU3011, a compact, fanless industrial AI edge computer built around the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, designed for 24/7 operations in manufacturing, smart cities, robotics, and machine vision systems, where real-time processing is needed. The fanless system supports NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 4GB (34 TOPS) or 8GB (up to 67 TOPS) configurations, with 4GB/8GB LPDDR5 memory and a 128GB PCIe x4 NVMe SSD. Connectivity options include up to four Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB 3.0/2.0, HDMI 2.0 (4K), an SD card slot, optional 4G/5G and dual-band Wi-Fi via M.2 modules, along with industrial interfaces such as isolated RS-485, CAN, opto-isolated inputs, relay outputs, and an RTC. The system takes a wide 9–24V DC power input, features ESD-protected interfaces, and can be used for AGVs, visual inspection, smart factories, intelligent traffic analysis, medical devices, and small commercial robots. Forlinx FCU3011 specifications: SoM options NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano […]

Forlinx FET3506J-C is an ultra-small (40 x 29mm) Rockchip RK3506J SoM with board-to-board connectors

Tiny Rockchip RK3506J SoM

Forlinx Embedded FET3506J-C is an ultra-small system-on-module (SoM) based on Rockchip RK3506J triple-core Cortex-A7 SoC measuring just 40 x 29mm, and equipped with up to 512MB DDR3, and 256MB NAND flash, or 8GB eMMC flash. I first thought I had already written about it, but the Forlinx FET3506J-S module introduced last March has a different design. It measures 44 x 35mm and exposes all I/Os through castellated holes, while the FET3506J-C features two 80-pin board-to-board (B2B) connectors instead. The company also provides the OK3506J-C single board computer for evaluation, but considering the module is inserted into the carrier board, as opposed to soldered, the carrier board could potentially be used with future modules using the same B2B connectors design. Forlinx FET3506J-C system-on-module Specifications: SoC – Rockchip RK3506J/B CPU 3x Arm Cortex-A7 core up to 1.5 GHz (RK3506J) or 1.6 GHz (RK3506B) Arm Cortex-M0 real-time core @ 200 MHz GPU – […]

Forlinx FET3506J-S low power system-on-module features Rockchip RK3506J industrial-grade tri-core Cortex-A7 SoC

Rockchip RK3506J system-on-module

Forlinx FET3506J-S system-on-module (SoM) is based on a Rockchip RK3506J SoC, the industrial version of the RK3506 tri-core Cortex-A7 SoC, designed for smart industrial applications, and operating at a low power consumption of about 0.7 Watts. The Rockchip RK3506 SoC was first unveiled in 2023 through a product roadmap. However, we only spotted it in a product at the very end of 2024 with the Luckfox Lyra and Luckfox Lyra Plus featuring a MIPI CSI display connector and optional Ethernet. The Forlinkx FET3506J-S CPU module is the first platform with the industrial version (RK3506J), and the company also provides the OK3506 carrier board/development board for evaluation. Forlinx FET3506J-S system-on-module Specifications: SoC – Rockchip RK3506J CPU 3x Arm Cortex-A7 core up to 1.5 GHz or 1.6 GHz (depending on where one looks in the documentation) Arm Cortex-M0 real-time core GPU – 2D GPU only No VPU, no NPU System Memory – […]
