NVIDIA launches smaller, mainstream Jetson T2000 and T3000 modules for Edge AI and robotics applications

NVIDIA Jetson Thor T2000 T3000

NVIDIA has just launched the Jetson T2000 and T3000 “mainstream” modules as smaller and lower cost options to the Jetson T4000/T5000 modules introduced last year for Edge AI and robotics applications. The Jetson Thor T3000 and the industrial version IGX Thor T3000, which adds functional safety, both deliver up to 865 FP4 TFLOPS of AI compute. They feature a 1536-core NVIDIA Blackwell GPU, an eight-core Neoverse Arm CPU, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory with 273GB/s bandwidth, and 25 GbE connectivity. The Jetson Thor T2000 delivers up to 400 TFLOPS of AI performance, features a 1024-core Blackwell GPU, 16GB LPDDR5 with 137GB/s bandwidth, and 10 GbE networking. Both are about half the size of the Jetson T4000/T5000 modules. Here’s a preliminary comparison between the Jetson Thor T2000, T3000, T4000, and T5000 modules. It’s preliminary because, as I write this article, NVIDIA has yet to provide the full specifications for the new T2000 and […]

Reverse-engineering brings RK3576 NPU support to open-source Rocket driver for mainline Linux

Rockchip RK3576 open source NPU driver

Back in 2024, we noted that the open-source driver for RK3588’s NPU by Tomeu Vizoso delivered decent performance for object detection. Since then, good progress has been made, and it’s now known as the Rocket driver in mainline Linux. However, the Rockchip RK3576 SoC is not supported by the Rocket driver in mainline yet, despite sharing a similar NPU. The good news is that Ga Hing Woo has been working on mainline Linux support for the Rockchip RK3576 NPU using the Rocket driver stack and has tested the updates on the Radxa ROCK 4D running Linux 7.1-rc5. This required some serious reverse-engineering work due to hidden registers not documented in the TRM. Ga Hing Woo (also written as Jiaxing Hu) sent us an email explaining some of the challenges: Single int8 convolution now comes out byte-exact against a CPU reference on the open stack. Getting there meant reverse-engineering the compute […]

Raspberry Pi gets 10BASE-T1S/T1L Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) HAT+ board

Raspberry Pi 10BASE T1S SPE HAT

Germany-based Brechel Electronic has launched two new Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) expansion boards for Raspberry Pi platforms: the BE-IIS-HPP-T1S and the BE-IIS-HPP-T1L. Designed for technology evaluation, industrial network prototyping, and educational laboratory use, these boards add 10 Mbit/s Ethernet communication over a single twisted pair to standard Raspberry Pi SBCs. The BE-IIS-HPP-T1S is based on the Microchip LAN8651 10BASE-T1S MAC-PHY and supports IEEE 802.3cg Single Pair Ethernet over multidrop networks with up to 8 nodes, enabling distances up to 25 meters on a shared bus. For longer-reach point-to-point links, the company offers the BE-IIS-HPP-T1L, built around Analog Devices ADIN1110 MAC-PHY. Both boards are part of the BE-IIS HAT++ ecosystem, which allows multiple industrial communication HATs to be stacked on a single Raspberry Pi without running into SPI or GPIO resource conflicts. Brechel Electronic 10BASE-T1L and 10BASE-T1S specifications: Compatibility – Raspberry Pi HAT+ compliant T1L – Supports Pi 3, 4, 5, and Zero […]

Sipeed NanoKVM-Go – A 4K USB-C KVM with Recall-like function, AI integration (Crowdfunding)

NanoKVM-Go

Sipeed NanoKVM-Go is a 4K USB-C KVM designed to control any USB-C device from anywhere with one cable. It also supports “full screen memory”, a function similar to the controversial Microsoft Recall feature, which enables an AI agent to search through your screenshots. Remote control software works fine until your system freezes or BIOS access is required, and traditional KVMs do the job with HDMI, USB, Ethernet, power cables, and adapters, but that’s a bit too much when working on the go. The NanoKVM-Go aims to solve all these little issues with a small and light device that requires only one cable to the target, while the host connects to the USB KVM over WiFi 6. NanoKVM-Go and Go+ specifications: SoC – Unamed, but almost certainly the Axera Tech AX630C used in the Sipeed NanoKVM Pro 4K IP KVM. CPU – Dual-core Cortex-A53 AI accelerator – 3.2TOPS NPU System Memory […]
