iWave Systems Introduces RainboW-G16M µMXM SoM Powered by Freescale Vybrid ARM Cortex A5 / M4 SoC

iWave Systems has unveiled new microMXM system-on-modules powered by Freescale Vybrid dual core ARM Cortex-A5 @ 500Mhz and Cortex-M4 @ 167 Mhz SoC. Rainbow-G16M modules target applications that can leverage the Cortex M4 MCU for real-time tasks, and the Cortex A5 core for application processing such as industrial process control & kiosks , smart grid, medical / healthcare devices, smart connected devices, and battery operated handheld devices.

Here are the module specifications:

  • SoC – Vybrid VF6x Series Controller with ARM Cortex A5 core @ 500Mhz, and Cortex M4 core @ 167 MHz
  • System Memory – 256 MB DDR3 (Expandable upto 1GB)
  • Storage
    • 256MB NAND Flash (Expandable up to 2GB)
    • QSPI Flash (Optional)
    • EEPROM (Optional)
  • On Board peripherals support:
    • On module 10/100 Ethernet PHY
    • JTAG Header for processor (Optional)
    • Open SDA Header (Optional)
    • DIP Switch for boot settings (Optional)
  • 314-pin MXM PCB Edge Connector Interfaces:
    • 10/100 Ethernet PHY interface

  1. hi guys and girls i have just seen this ( Google Nexus 4 now available for $199 and up ($100 price cut) ) trying very hard to convince the wife to buy one looking at the specs it is awesome

  2. i was reminded how often we (Australians)get ripped off buy the big boys google and apple in the us its $199 and Australia $249 why i don’t understand even iTunes and apps are more expansive in Australia when compared to every one else but still the price on this is awesome specs krait 300 (like cortex-a15) adreno 320 i know you cannot compare to the new lg g2 but for the price and what it can do its awesome and a must get. i also made a you tube video about iam new to making videos but its fun http://youtu.be/lKhs-wCak2I

  4. I’m live in Spain, one of the countries where the Nexus 4 sells. Here the price now is 199€ (yes one more time $1=1€) plus 9,9€ for shipping for the version with 8G of storage.

    I know several people that had bought this phone recently for a price of 299€. For who that had bought it later than 17 of August, google has offered a refund.

  5. i just did the currency conversion and $199 = 150.26€ so you guys got screwed just as much as us i dont understand when you say $1=1€

  6. adem when a company announce a new product, with a price in american dollars and it reaches Europe, in almost every ocasion the conversion are $1=1€. I understand that those conversion includes higher taxes that are aplicable in Europe, for example in Spain the tax rate are 21%.
