Asus MeMo Pad 7 ME176C Android Tablet Powered by an Intel Quad Core Bay Trail SoC to Sell for $170

Until now, most Intel “Bay Trail” based tablets sold were running Windows 8.1, unless you checked on Aliexpress.  It now appears Asus will soon sell an Android Kitkat tablet, ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176C, powered by Intel Atom Z3745 quad core SoC, and featuring a 7″ IPS display, 1 GB RAM and 8GB flash, for as low as $166.

Asus_Memo_Pad_7_ME176CASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176C specifications:

The tablet will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Asus ZenUI user interface.

ITC.ua has a sample and ran some benchmarks showing decent performance comparable to Samsung Galaxy S4 (Exynos 5 Octa 5410 or Qualcomm Snapdragon), and in some cases, pretty close to LG G2 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800).

Asus tablet scores 886 in Vellamo (Metal), 32030 in Antutu 4.x, and 16156 in Quadrant. The Quadrant test appears to show excellent CPU and memory performance, good I/O performance, but the GPU performance looks underwhelming. Asus ME176C specs are leaning toward to low end of the market, but the processor is fast, and $170 could be a pretty good deal. We still don’t know when it will become available.

Now please sell me the same device with a full hd 8 inch screen and 2G RAM for 250 and I’ll seriously consider buying one to replace my 2013 Nexus 7. Like this? Not so much.
