DVB Channel Editor Tools for K1 Plus T2 S2 Android TV Box

K1 Plus T2/S2 is one of the most popular Android TV boxes with digital tuners, including both DVB-T2/T/C and DVB-S2/S tuners, and I get frequent comments and questions on K1 Plus T2 S2 review. One of the often asked request is a channel editor to use on a computer, in order to change the names, the order of channels, and set favorites.

You can export the DVB data from the DTV app in Android with all data stored in dtv_user_data directory, and in theory, one web based editor is supposed to let you do just that, but it did not work for me.

Another option shared with us by gabywap is K1_Plus_Editor.exe (Mirror) developed by Sm0ke, who appears to mostly frequent Russian forums. So I downloaded it, and launched it with Wine in Ubuntu 16.04, but the channel data I had could not load, and the program showed some error message in Russian. So instead I fired up a Windows 7 virtual machine in VirtualBox, launched the program and I could load the data without issue.

Everything is in Russian, but it’s still easy to figure out with Load, Save, Channel Up and Down buttons. Most fields seem read-only, but you can change the channel name (recName field), and arrange favorites in the columns on the right. Clicking on Save will update two files in the dtv_user_data directory dtv_preferences.xml and dvb_s_mw_s1.

Once you are done, you can zip the directory, and restore the channel data through the DTV app in K1 Plus box.

    1. Please share the editor v4.1 with us. I have k2 pro. İs it suitable to k2 pro?. İs there a newer version?

  1. Hi there!
Sorry guys for the noob question, but I can’t find this folder on the device… Can you help me?

  2. @laciii
The folder is not in the device, but in the backup file. I don’t have the device running here, but basically you need to go into the DTV setup menu, find “backup data” or “backup channel data” or similar to get a ZIP file, edit the file with the editor in Windows, zip is back, and restore data in the box.

  3. Dear DiZl and sm0ke,

Thank You for Your nice work!
    2 remarks:
    – It displays the box to the editor as connected, but I can’t up/download the list (“Configuration download/upload failed”)
    – Maybe this is a special problem, but after a channel edition, from ch.548 the edited file in the PC and in the KI Plus seems to be different.
+ Would be usefull a channel “find” option in You editor.

    B.R!

  4. Dear DiZl and sm0ke,
After a little SU configuring, the channel list dowload is OK, but the upload is not.
    Please check.

  5. @DiZil
    Thanks for the update!
0.6.3.3 version is better, because it doesn’t delete the list from the box, but the upload is still not perfect.
Box shows only one file updating procedure, and it seems to be not enough to the whole list upload.

  6. Dear DiZil and Sm0ke,

    thanks for your hard work.
Could I ask you please for option to Change Channels for DVB-T2, sorry in my country stopped the time and still using 😉 😉

  7. Dear DiZil and Sm0ke,

  8. Why?
We add to the editor supporting T2 channels, but very few people sent their lists of channels. Proprietary storage format, no description available. Therefore, examples are needed. Probably very few people is necessary.

  9. Hi sm0ke and DiZil, in Italy is very useful the DVB-T editor. Here we have around 300 channel to edit.
I don’t have find your editor with the dvb-t support (may be you don’t have release it for public use?).

Anyway thank for your great effort to support the project.

  10. I´m wondering if it´s possible to tune DVB-C channels by editing frequency/SR if it is available on the editor….

  11. In file format is not possible to change it. is there a reason or is that to be so.
i used a ki pro channel list with 06-06-2016 file format and, when i try to use it on my ki plus, dtv crashes and wont start again forcing me to reflash the box. when i backup user data from my box, the file format is 25-06-2016. Is there a way to convert the channel list to use with my box or this is a bug that you are trying to fix? thanks in advance

  12. Hi

Great work. I have downloaded all my 1000 channels. I have tried to add a few to my favourite list, press save, and then press upload.

I cannot find the channels in the favourite list of my K2 box. Do I do something wrong?

I got the message, “configuration has been successfully uploaded”!

    Edited, now it worked…

New question, is there any option to sort my favorite list?

  13. I am also requesting a way to add audio and video pids. Their are some audio and video channels that will not scan in. Adding them manually is the only way to receive them. I have searched the Internet and have tried several editors. I have not found a way to edit or add pids. Thank you for your time.

  14. @DiZil Would be nice if the editor also would work with the KIII Pro. With version 0.6.5.6, I can connect to the KIII, but the moment I try to download the channels, etc , I get the error: “Failed to pull ‘/data/data/th.dtv/dvb_s_mw_s1. No such File or Directory”. It seems that on the KIII Pro the files have a different names. I see files with the names dtv_mw_s1, dtv_mw_st1, dtv_mw_st2, dtv_mw_t1, dtv_mw_d1 and dtv_preferences.xml.

  15. the structure of channel list of KIII is fully different to K1/KII
I asked the support team of ACEMAX for description of structure
If/when they privide me it, then I will implement the support for KIII

  16. Is there a way to import a satellite list using this (or any other) tool to the box, rather than manually entering one by one?

  17. the developer refuses to disclose structure of the list of KIII channels
(probable, the most important national-security secret…)
don’t expect channel editor for KIII

  18. @DiZil
Since I have contact with Videostrong’s sales team, I asked. That’s the answer:

Thank you very much for your info.
We are developing this kind of tool as well, may release soon.
So at precent we do not send the data structure of DVB data backups.
But we will try the best the finish the tool and public it.

I doubt it will be open source though.

  19. First want to thank you for the app and the effort that you made. I have KI pro and get the same problem as kIII. opening”dtv_user_data” in the app was useless “the folder doesn’t contains valid data”. Is it possible to send you “dtv_user_data” maybe you can find a way to make editor compatible with other boxes. Connecting with box was successful.

  20. Hello
Do some work on editing the KIII Pro list?
Have you got files from KIII Pro?
If so, donate it. Please help us.
    Regards

  21. Hello.

I have a problem sending a list to a box, until the SuperSu application box is installed The connection was ok but it was not going to send the list because it popped up to install SuperSu, I installed the applications in the box from the playstore and now I do not have any connection to the box, what is wrong doing please help.
sorry for writing but i use translate.

  22. @DiZl
Can you share the code ? maybe i can help … i have a KIII pro and i would like to make it work.
it would be best not to start from scratch 🙂

    1. I’ve tried parsing the APK code

I noticed that if you make reverse engineer APK th.dtv you can analyze some part of the code. Checking the sources \ th \ dtv \ smart \ BissCfgFile.java “file, you can check the method in the function that is on line 58

  23. hi, maybe we should use older version of dtv software, install on kIII pro file fron kII pro & use k1+ channel editor v0.6.5.9 (path is the same) – is here somebody who have *.apk from kI or KII?

  24. @DiZil

Hi, I have K1 Pro and my signal is dvb-c and cant edit my channel list. There is another way to edit channel list by dvb-c?

    1. Hi

I still use your tool. IT is excellent.

However, when I download all channels I don’t see any names of the channels… Is there an update needed?
