Ryzen Embedded Powered Tranquil PC Mini Multi Display PC Features 4x 4K DisplayPort Outputs

The Multi-Display Embedded AMD Ryzen Mini PC

Tranquil’s mini multi-display PC (MMDPC) is a fanless workhorse housed in a full aluminum enclosure, running an embedded AMD Ryzen V1605B APU on the Sapphire Tech FS-FP5V motherboard announced in 2018.

A Fanless Mini PC

The durable housing for the MMDPC is a very artistically designed case that is quiet and functional, offering a back panel I/O that has 4x 4K capable DisplayPort outputs, 2x Ethernet ports, and USB a 3.1 Type C port.  The barebone PC does require your own RAM, M.2 SSD, and operating system.

The MMDPC Was Designed for Efficiency and Durability

The PC is meant for an industrial environment and is fanless for efficient cooling and durability.  Built to withstand the hazards of industry and the environment, the chassis’s fanless design cuts down on dust, debris, and moisture, which usually affect other industrial mini PCs. The removal of the fan and the use of an SSD means the PC has no moving parts, is completely silent,  and offers increased start-up speeds. The enclosure and the secured components resist vibrations and shocks, increasing the expected lifespan of the PC.

Performance and Scalability

The embedded AMD Ryzen Advanced Processing Unit (APU) is incorporated into the Sapphire Tech FS-FP5V motherboard. The APU features four cores and eight threads running at a base speed of 2.0 GHz, with a turbo level of 3.0 GHz. The RAM can be up to 32 GB of SODIMM memory and is easily installed along with a single M.2 SSD from 120 GB to 2 TB.

Higher Level Graphics

The APU carries Vega 8 GPU which shares 2048 MB which offers a significant performance in gaming from a mini PC if that is the choice of the user.

  1. This article appears to be a rehash of the article published on Fanless Tech back in Augist, 2019.

An actual review of its performance would have been more useful.

It is important to note that the unit can only be used in dry environments and is therefore not suitable for installation on the production line in abattoirs, meat packing plants, fish processing plants, or other high humidity environments.

    1. Nice thing.
It would be interesting to see how this behaves with a high load.
Would it still run on max capacity or would there be some thermal throttling

    2. I agree with Richard Crook, a performance test would be nice.
Especially one that checks 4k (UHD) browser performance (HTML canvas animations 2D and 3D in full screen) while monitoring the FPS and temperature on Linux.
