The mainboard runs Android 10 with root access, but thanks to the HDMI transfer board the flexible display can be used with computers or boards that support 1440 x 1920 resolution. Royole however mentioned the touchscreen display only works in Windows 10 with provided USB drivers, so it’s possible the touchscreen does not work in Linux for instance.

The RoKit flexible display development kit can be used to prototype/design scrolling screens, expandable displays, 360-degree rotating screens, curved interfaces, discreet & portable devices, etc… It should be noted Royole FlexPai foldable phone prototype showcased in 2019 also used a 7.8-inch AMOLED display, but in combination with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.

There’s no much in terms of software documentation, as it’s mostly a hardware development kit, and instead, the company provides a simple user guide for assembly and description of the items. Royole Rokit can be pre-ordered for $959 on Seeed Studio or directly from Royole.

    1. I think going through security would be easy here. The much harder part is taking a photo or shooting a video… It would have to be done with a hidden camera that goes through the metal detector without being detected, since taking photos there is forbidden.

But maybe I misremember or things have changed since I’ve not boarded a plane in 3 years…
