A little while ago, I wrote about WCH CH32V307 32-bit RISC-V MCU that was found in a board with eight UART ports that could be controlled over Ethernet or USB, and the company has released some source code to use the board while inviting the community to submit pull requests to the project.
But now WCH, RT-Thread, LCSC, and EasyEDA have joined hands to launch the RISC-V design challenge where the companies will provide a free board or two RISC-V chips to selected participants, as well as cash prizes with up to $1000 offered to the best projects.
As I understand it, the RISC-V design challenge is open globally. Now besides the free hardware, there will also be cash prizes from $100 to $1000 distributed to 11 participants who designed the best projects. What the FAQ does not clarify is the deadline for the projects and prize selection.
As a side note, if you are interested in RT-Thread IoT OS open-source real-time operating system, there’s an upcoming “Embedded GUI Webinar” taking place on March 15 that will explain how to develop user interfaces with the OS and LVGL library. I’m also told a separate contest will be launched but no details are available at this time. Finally, the 2022 RT-Thread IoT OS Global Tech Conference is scheduled to take place on June 1-2, and (free) registration is already open.
