You may know ameriDroid as a reseller of single board computers and accessories, but the US company has now designed and manufactured its first accessory with an aluminum case for ODROID-N2+ SBC.
ameriDroid says the design of their enclosure is based on the metallic blue case found in the Home Assistant Blue gateway also powered by ODROID-N2+ board, and everything was 100% designed and manufactured by ameriDroid in the United States, specifically in Kentucky and California for the R&D, while the factory is located in Ohio.
The enclosure has mostly been designed for industrial application, think of a factory floor for instance, so it may not be the prettiest. The company even explains that it is made of unpainted, unfinished aluminum with potentially some minor surface marks from the manufacturing process, but that it could be polished or painted for a better finish.
It ships as a kit with an aluminum body, an aluminum back panel, and pair of Philips screws for assembly. ameriDroid lists five advantages of doing their own enclosure and producing it in the US:
- Reduced environmental impact
- Elimination of high import tariffs on aluminum goods
- Improved economic benefits and jobs for all involved, close to where we work and live
- Improved supply chain logistics
- Greater agility and flexibility
There’s a trend to manufacture more and more products locally in various countries around the world now for various reasons, but notably to make their economies more self-sufficient, and I suppose it’s just one more example. The company will not stop with only one enclosure, and they are working on metal cases for the ODROID-C4, RADXA Zero, and other single board computers, as well as a multi-purpose case designed for the just-announced ODROID-M1 that can house an SSD or hard drive, and other accessories.
The ODROID-N2+ aluminum case can be purchased now for $19.95 plus shipping. They can also customize the case to the customer’s requirement with a selection of finishes, colors, and logos upon request.

someone knows if will come Odroid N3?
Make a metal case for the ROCK5 Model B, then we’re talking.
ameridroid is a scam… they took my money and my home assistant blue is never coming to me…
I would have heard were there external connector supports and heatsink integration I suppose. Keep that hustle, Ohio.
At first I thought this was a delayed april fools joke or something. Calling this thing an engineering sample would be a compliment, with the uneven cuts and sides that don’t even attach to anything. Not to mention the lack of finish or paint.
I suppose you can sell just about anything over there if you slap enough stars and stripes on it. It looks like it was made by a high schooler in shop class. It’s worse than the official case in every way imaginable, while costing three to four and half times as much.
