The device has support for NDI that converts video signals (typically from HDMI or SDI sources) into NDI (Network Device Interface) format for transmission over IP networks. However, you need to purchase a separate license to enable NDI functionality on this device.
In terms of software, the device features a web-based interface for remote configuration, firmware upgrades, live parameter adjustments, and network & password management. The device also supports real-time video mixing functions, including picture-in-picture, logo overlay, watermark insertion, subtitles, and scrolling text. You can also customize fonts and upload logos for branding purposes. Additionally, the system supports multiple stream outputs and protocol switching without rebooting. The Wiki has more details, although nothing specific to the ENC1 Pro per se.
It’s not the first LinkPi encoder around, and we previously wrote about the Link Pi ENC5 v2 video encoder with 5 HDMI inputs supporting up to 4K @ 30fps, two audio jacks, Gigabit Ethernet, and a USB 3.0 port. Another alternative is the Mekotronics R58-4×4 3U Rockchip RK3588-based video encoder with four SDI inputs and four SDI loop outputs.
The LinkPi ENC1Pro can be purchased from AliExpress for $322.69 before taxes and shipping for the standalone unit (device + power adapter), with optional higher-priced bundles that add accessories like a Wi-Fi 6 module or an SDI to HDMI adapter. It’s also available on the Youyeetoo store for $277.67.
