AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 Zen2 Processors Announced

AMD introduced Ryzen Embedded V1000 processors combining Zen cores and Radeon Vega 3/8 GPU in 2018, and the processors are found in several embedded products including 4K digital signage players, single board computers, computers-on-module, mini PCs, and more. The company has now unveiled an updated family with AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 SoC’s with up to 8 Zen2 cores, 16 threads, 4MB L2 cache, 8MB L3 cache, DDR4/LPDDR4X memory support, and a TDP range between 10W to 54W depending on the model. Giveaway Week – DFI GHF51 Ryzen Embedded SBC

Let’s end this year’s Giveaway Week with a bang courtesy of DFI GHF51 single board computer, that’s about the size of the Raspberry Pi, but is powered by an AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G dual-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. With Gigabit Ethernet, dual micro HDMI output, and a single USB-C port, the board is clearly designed for industrial machines, digital signage, and robotics, but it can also be used as a standard computer via a USB-C hub. I tested the SBC with WIndows 10 Enterprise LTSC and Ubuntu 20.04, and it worked well in Windows, except for some issue with one of my USB hard drives where transfers would just stall from time to time. gKINO-V1000 and gKINO-R1000 Mini-ITX SBC’s Feature AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000/R1000 SoC

While we reported earlier AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 is coming later this year, companies are still launching boards with the previous generation AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 or R1000 processors. ASUS PN50 – The World’s First AMD Ryzen 4000U Mini PC

AMD Ryzen 4000-U Series family was announced in January with the 15W processors targetting ultra-thin laptops. It’s already been found in laptops and the first reviews of Acer Swift 3 were positive with the laptop being slim, fast, and offering long battery life. But I had yet to see an AMD Ryzen 4000U mini PC until today, with ASUS PN50 mini PC shipping with a choice of five processors from AMD Ryzen 3 4300U to Ryzen 7 4800U, and a design identical to the company’s PN60 mini PC powered by Intel Kaby Lake Refresh processors. DFI Ryzen Embedded R1606G SBC Review – Part 2: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC

AMD Ryzen C7, an Arm Cortex-X1/A78/A55 Processor with MediaTek 5G Modem? (Leak)

Arm just announced Cortex-A78 and Cortex-X1 CPU cores last week, and we should expect several silicon vendors to announce new SoCs based on the new cores by the end of the year. But AMD? Yes, according to a now-deleted leak from Slashleaks that lives on Twitter.
