CrowVision review – An 11.6-inch 1366×768 touchscreen display that works with multiple SBCs

CrowVision is an 11.6-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 1366×768 resolution that is designed to work not only with the Raspberry Pi but most single board computers with mounting holes within a 100 x 80 mm rectangle. Elecrow sent me a sample so I’ll try it out with a Raspberry Pi, a Windows 11 mini PC, and a Ubuntu 22.04 laptop to make sure it works well with those operating systems. CrowVision unboxing The packages include the display module itself, a 12V/2A power adapter, USB Type-C and micro USB cables, an HDMI to mini HDMI cable, a micro HDMI to mini HDMI cable, two “ribbons” for cable management, a screwdriver, an OSD control board with five keys, and a user manual. Ultrawide 8.8-inch HDMI and USB information display is offered with optional touchscreen support

Last year, I wrote about the Turing Smart Screen low-cost 3.5-inch display based on a WCH CH552T 8-bit E8051 core microcontroller that connects to a PC or other device through a USB Type-C cable in order to display system or other information using AIDA64 software or an open-source Python software. I’ve just come across another display that appears to serve the same purpose, except the “GeekTeches V35” is an ultrawide 8.8-inch display with 1920×480 resolution, micro USB and micro HDMI interfaces, and optional support for a touchscreen. T-HMI ESP32-S3 board comes with an 2.8-inch touchscreen color display, three Grove expansion connectors

Lilygo has launched yet another ESP32-S3 board with an integrated display, but the T-HMI has a larger 2.8-inch color display and a resistive touch panel suitable for HMI (Human Machine Interfaces). It is also equipped with three Grove connectors for expansion with sensors or actuators. Like all the recent ESP32-S3 boards from Lilygo, the T-HMI features the ESP32-S3R8 WiFi 4 and Bluetooth MCU with 8MB PSRAM, as well as a 16MB SPI flash, a microSD card slot, a few buttons, and power from USB or a LiPo battery. M5Stack CM4Stack – A tiny Raspberry Pi CM4 Linux computer with an integrated 2-inch display

M5Stack CM4Stack is a tiny Arm Linux mini PC based on Raspberry Pi CM4 that measures 59 x 44 x 46mm and integrates a 2-inch touchscreen display for information and control, as well as the usual ports you’d expect from a mini PC such as HDMI, USB 3.2 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and so on. We’ve previously written about M5Stack Core and Atom controllers based on ESP32 microcontrollers, an optional 2.0-inch display, and a few GPIOs. Makerfabs “ESP32-S3 Round SPI TFT with Touch 1.28″” is a small ESP32-S3 with a 1.28-inch round color touchscreen display, a microSD card, support for USB and battery power, and two “Mabee” extension connectors. The board joins other ESP32-S3 round display boards such as the Lilygo T-RGB board or Seeed Studio’s Round Display for XIAO, but with a thinner design, and a square PCB with trimmed corners instead of a round PCB like the other two. Tuya “T6E” is a 4-inch Android touch control panel & Zigbee gateway for OEMs

Tuya T6E is a 4-inch control panel with a touchscreen running Android 8.1 on Rockchip PX30, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee, and designed to be wall-mounted for home automation and other HMI applications. It looks fairly similar to the ITEAD NSPanel Pro introduced last month, for Tuya’s “Central Control System” (CSS) appears to be mostly designed for OEMs who want to roll their own products with custom firmware.
