Librem Mini v2 Linux Mini PC features Intel Core i7-10510U Comet Lake Processor

Purism launches their first Linux mini PC with Librem Mini powered by an Intel Core i7-8565U Whiskey Lake processor earlier this year, and now the company has unveiled an updated model with the same features, except that Librem Mini v2 mini PC features a slightly more powerful 10th generation Intel Core i7-10510U Comet Lake processor for the same $699 price tag. Sutajio Ko-usagi PTE LTD has launched some interesting hardware on Crowd Supply over the years include Novena open-source hardware Arm laptop, and Fomu FPGA USB board. The company is now back with another project: Precursor, a mobile, open-source hardware devkit powered by not one, but two FPGA with Xilinx Spartan 7-Series FPGA, plus a super-low-power Lattice iCE40 UP5K FPGA for deep-sleep system management. The device also comes with a display, battery, and keyboard that make it looks like older Palm or Blackberry phones. Day 2 of Giveaway Week 2020 on CNX Software. What do we have here? Miniware DT71 smart tweezers that serve as LCR meter, basic signal generator, and of course actual tweezers. Raspberry Pi 400 keyboard computer with Broadcom BCM2711C0 1.8 GHz processor has just launched, and we already published a teardown of the Raspberry Pi 400 hardware to check out the cooling solution and overall hardware design. In this review, we’ll mostly focus on Raspberry Pi 400 and Raspberry Pi 4 differences, since both devices mostly rely on the same chips. After checking the different features, we’ll run Thomas Kaiser’s “SBC Bench” script to test thermal cooling and benchmark both RPi hardware platforms. Raspberry Pi 400 Teardown – Heat spreader and motherboard

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has just introduced the Raspberry Pi 400 keyboard computer with the guts of Raspberry Pi 4 SBC, 4GB RAM, and a 78-key keyboard. I got a sample courtesy of Cytron, so before we test the device in more detail, I decided to have a look at the internals with a teardown. Raspberry Pi 400 keyboard PC can easily and safely be opened with an old credit card or other hard cards – I used a card holding a SIM card – that you can swipe between the pink case and the white keyboard to pop out the keyboard. The Raspberry Pi Foundation has gotten us used to wait for a while between new hardware releases, but right after having announced Raspberry Pi CM4 and CM4 Lite a couple of weeks ago, the company has now introduced Raspberry Pi 400 keyboard computer with many of the same features as Raspberry Pi 4 single board computer, but as a fully integrated computer inside a 78-key keyboard, and equipped with a slightly faster Broadcom BCM2711C0 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz instead of 1.5 GHz. Orange Pi Zero2 Allwinner H616 SBC runs Android 10 or Linux

Last year, Shenzhen Xunlong Software unveiled Orange Pi Zero2 SBC as an update to the popular Orange Pi Zero board with a faster Allwinner H6 processor, HDMI 2.0 video output, USB 3.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet, and WiFi. Just one little problem: AFAIK they never sold it. But Orange Pi Zero2 board is now back with another design features instead equipped with a newer Allwinner H616 processor supporting Android 10, and various Linux distributions such as Ubuntu and Debian. Giveaway Week – MINIX NEO Storage Plus USB-C Hub with 480GB SSD

There have been “giveaway weeks” every year since 2014 on CNX Software where I send some of the samples I reviewed in the last year to seven lucky readers. With COVID-19 this year, I thought it might not happen, but it looks like shipping is working normally except for a $1.4 surcharge, so Giveaway Week 2020 will still take although I’ve tweaked the rules a bit. I’m using “Small Packet” to ship parcels at an affordable price, and if the option is not available, shipping may end up being two to four times more expensive. I’ve (naively?) assumed the Thai post office website is up-to-date, and checked “Small Packet” shipping was indeed available for the USA, France, Japan, and Australia. But out of caution, I’ll ask people to write the country where I’m supposed to ship the parcel. This will allow me to check shipping options before contacting the winners. […]
