Leadcore Introduces LC1810, LC1811, LC1813, and LC1913 SoCs for Smartphones and Tablets

Mediatek, Rockchip, AllWinner among others are now well-known Chinese ARM SoC manufacturers for tablets, smartphones and set-top boxes. However, you may never have head about Leadcore Technology, a company based in Shanghai with over 1,000 employees, and a subsidiary of Datang Telecom Technology & Industry Group (Another company I had never heard of). The company has “recently” announced two dual core Cortex A9 SoCs for smartphones: LC1810 and lc1811, and two quad core Cortex A7 SoC for tablets: LC1813 and LC1913.

LC1810 and LC1811 come with the following features:

  • Dual-core Cortex A9 up to 1.2 GHz
  • MALI-400 MP2 GPU
  • LPDDR2 (both) and DDR3/LPDDR for LC1811
  • Maximum screen resolution:
    • LC1810 – 1080p
    • LC1811 – 1280×800 (WXGA)
  • 1080p video encode and decode
  • Camera:
    • LC1810 – Up to 20MP
    • LC1811 – Up to 8MP
  • Video Out – HDMI 1.4a, 3D HD
  • Network – GSM + GSM DSDA (Both), TD-HSPA+ (LC1810), and TD-HSPA (LC1811)
  • 40nm LP CMOS process
  • 12mm x 12mm BGA package

Strangely both SoCs are said to only support Android 4.0 (ICS).

LC1913 and LC11813 tablet SoCs have the following features:

  • Quad-core Cortex A7 up to 1.2 GHz
  • MALI-400 MP2 GPU
  • LPDDR2/DDR3 (both) and LPDDR for LC1813
  • Maximum screen resolution – 1280×800 (WXGA)
  • 1080p video encode and decode
  • Camera – Up to 13MP
  • Wi-Fi Display support
  • Built-in USB 2.0 OTG (LC1913 only)
  • Network – TD-HSPA, GSM + GSM DSDS
  • 40nm LP CMOS process
  • Package:
    • LC1813 – 12mm x 12mm BGA package
    • LC1913 – 18mm x 18mm BGA package

Both processors support Android 4.2. The only difference between LC1813 and LC1913 appears to be USB support, which led the company to use a larger package.

You can get more information about Leadcore INNOPOWER LC1810 and LC1811 SoC on the company’s product page (in Chinese). But I can’t find anything about LC1913 or LC1813 on their site.

  1. Hi, this chipset will not be useful for proper 3G…. only in China. But new player is always good.
    Anything new in mips world?

  2. Datang was once a major player in Chinese telecom industry, along with ZTE and Huawei. I had a few acquaintances worked there.

  3. @Alex
Not that I know of, but since both MIPS and PowerVR belongs to Imagination Technology, it should not be too long before we start to see MIPS CPU + PowerVR GPU SoC popping up.

    @Sid
The only Datang I’ve heard of before is Datang Power, but that’s a completely different business…

Datang/CATT is still a major player, and a significant contributor at 3GPP.
To my knowledge, they used to focus mainly on TDSCDMA/TDLTE, so China Mobile is their main customer (keep in mind it’s the biggest operator in the world !).
Many big vendors are still unknown in Europe/US. For example, do you know Potevio ? Yet it’s also a quite big company…
