MYIR Announces Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC SoM and Development Board

MYIR Technology has been selling Xilinx Zynq-7000 FPGA + Arm systems-on-module since 2016, but the Chinese company has now announced new modules based on the more powerful Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC with Arm Cortex-A53 cores, Arm Cortex-R5 cores, and Ultrascale FPGA fabric, as well as a corresponding development board.

The company provides a Linux 4.9.0 BSP for the module, with source code for all drivers and the bootloader, as well as buildroot support to generate a custom rootfs. Typical applications would include “the Internet” (what?), cloud computing, data center, machine vision, military equipment, flight navigation, and more.

MYD-CZU3EG Development Board

It’s pretty hard to use the module as it is, and takes time to develop a custom carrier board for the final product, so as one should fully expect, the company also provides MYD-CZU3EG development board for quick evaluation and early software development.

MYD-CZU3EG development boardThe baseboard will be fitted with an XCZU3EG-1SFVC784E MPSoC module equipped with 4GB DDR4, 4GB eMMC, 128MB QSPI Flash, and a heatsink + fan (fansink) will also be part of the kit. Note the SFP interfaces can not be used with (ZU3)EG MPSoC, so you’d need to wait for MYiR to launch a CPU module powered by an EV MPSoC.

MYiR MYC-CZU3EG CPU module sells for $399 in the default configuration, while the MYD-CZU3EG development board goes for $659 with all accessories (cables, power supply, 16GB microSD card, etc…) to get started. You’ll find more details and purchase links on the product page.
