X96Q Android 10 TV Box Shows Up with Allwinner H313 Quad-core Cortex-A53 Processor

It looks like Allwinner has come up with a new confusing processor. Allwinner H3 is a popular quad-core Cortex-A7 processor that’s been around for years, but the company has now launched an Allwinner H313 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor that’s found in some TV boxes running Android 10, namely X96Q with 1 to 2 GB RAM, and 8 to 16GB storage.

It’s clear the company aims at the low end of the market with those specifications, and indeed Allwinner compares H313 processor to their own Allwinner H3 processor, as well as Rockchip RK3229/RK3228A, and Amlogic S905W.

Allwinner H313 vs H3 vs RK3229 vs S905W

It actually looks similar to Allwinner H616 processor which we covered a few weeks ago with support for Android 10 and an Arm Mali-G31MP GPU, but H616 is probably clocked higher, supports up to 4GB RAM, and appears to support Gigabit Ethernet. [Update: Although the TV box does not, H313 supports Gigabit Ethernet too. See comments]

X96Q TV box is sold for around $19 and up with 1GB RAM and 8GB flash, and under $22 in 2GB/16GB configuration on sites like Aliexpress, GearBest, and others.

    1. Most probably Antutu. Thought about it, but somehow forgot to write about it.
Having Mali-G31 helps with the score here since other processors won’t be able to run one of the graphics tests and hence get 0.

  1. > H616 is probably clocked higher, supports up to 4GB RAM, and appears to support Gigabit Ethernet.

According to Allwinner’s product brief H313 also contains a ’10/100/1000 Mbps EMAC’. But obviously crappy TV boxes on their race to the bottom won’t increase the BOM costs by including a GbE PHY since there’s an additional ‘100Mbps Ethernet port with PHY’ integrated.

  2. Marketing car crash in motion. Its bad enough the multiple H6 variants get listed with H6 spec and have appalling media playback support in supplied software.

    1. And so it starts, there is already one listed on vontar offical store which lists the H313 gpu as a mali 400 .
More cut n paste nonsense to follow.

  3. I am thinking that I will give it try because of Android 10. Is it known if it runs ATV or regular Android?

    1. Regular Android. Note Android 10 is fairly new on Allwinner TV boxes, and there may be a bit more bugs than usual.

  4. If it is performance at a low price you want, take a look at the AMLogic 905×3, running at 1,8Ghz. I bought a batch for just $33 each!

    1. This is what the yet to be announced Odroid C4 will be based on. Shouldn’t it be running at 1.9Ghz?

    1. Some boxes have settings to output audio to HDMI or speakers (via AV port). Maybe that’s the reason.
