Rockchip PX30 3.5-inch SBC Targets Automotive Infotainment, Retail PoS, and Digital Signage

While Rockchip RK3326 quad-core Cortex-A35 processor is found in ODROID-GO Advance portable game console, it was brought to my attention that there weren’t any RK3326 SoM nor SBC on the market.

But Rockchip PX30, with virtually the same design, only adding support for dual VOP (dual independent display support), is already found on several system-on-modules including ADLINK LEC-PX30 SMARC module and ARBOR SOM-RP301. It turns out there’s also a Rockchip PX30 SBC courtesy of Shenzhen based TechVision “3.5’SBC-PX30-TVI3329A“.

Techvision PX30 3.5-inch SBCThe company provides the same Android 8.1 operating system used with Rockchip PX30 system-on-module. The PX30 SBC targets car infotainment systems, retail POS, and digital signage players. A typical PX30 car infotainment system based on the board would come with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, a 7″ display with 1024×600 resolution, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, GNSS (GPS, Galileo…) support with some model also including 3G/4G cellular connectivity and/or  DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast).

Pricing is not available, and there’s limited information on the product page. I thought it was the first time we wrote about TechVision, but a few years ago we covered a Rockhip RK3399 hybrid laptop from the company, and if you browse their website you’ll find both industrial and consumer boards or products.
