Google TV OS

The UGOOS SK2 runs the usual Google TV interfaces found on all other certified media devices and ships with an Android TV-supported remote with app buttons and Voice search. Previously, Amlogic S905X4 was one of the preferred SoCs for certified TV boxes, and UGOOS says the RTD1325 SoC is quite more powerful, with a 60 percent boost in Antutu where it gets around 210,000 points.

It’s not quite the first Google TV box powered by a Realtek RTD1325 SoC, as we previously covered the Formuler Z mini dongle and MECOOL KM9Pro Max TV box. However, the UGOOS SK2 offers twice as much RAM with 4GB LPDDR4, plus WiFi 6 connectivity against WiFi 5 on the other devices.

The UGOOS SK2 Google TV box ships with a voice remote control, a 12V/1A power supply, an HDMI cable, and a user manual. You’ll find it on various AliExpress shops for just $89.90. A few more details may be found on the product page.

  1. I doubt its 60% faster, the soc seems to be on par or just a little faster then the S905X4, and seems to have less codex support.

    1. I haven’t used Antutu for several years, but the score may be heavily impacted by the GPU and storage performance. You’re right about the CPU (integer) performance though.

  2. Looks exactly the same as the Rocktek GX1. Will probably have the same problem with adaptive DV.

  3. Sadly, Realtek has the more feature packed and performant SoCs,
but no software support, like Allwinner, Rockchip, Mediatek, Amlogic, ActionSemi….

    1. Oh, they have software support, but only for customers that order large quantities of chips, like 70k plus. Anyone else, most likely get the chips from the grey market in xina.
