$480+ Aspire 3 laptop is powered by an Intel Core i3-N305 Alder Lake-N processor

Intel has just launched the Alder Lake-N processors and a duo of ACER Aspire 3 laptops are some of the first platforms to feature the Core i3-N305 octa-core processor, after the introduction of the MSI Cubi N ADL mini PC last week. Both models are equipped with 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, but the Aspire 3 A314-36P-360X comes with a 14-inch display while the Aspire 3 A315-510P-3905 features a 15.6-inch display both at Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. COM Express & COM-HPC modules features Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake embedded processors

ADLINK has just announced the Express-RLP COM Express Type 6 and COM-HPC-cRLS COM-HPC size C modules based on the new Intel 13th generation Raptor Lake hybrid processors with Embedded and Industrial SKUs. The Express-RLP comes with an up to 14 cores, 20 threads Raptor Lake-P processor, 64GB DDR5 SO-DIMM, and PCIe Gen4, while the COM-HPC-cRLS offers up to a 24-core Rasptor Lake-S embedded processor, 128GB DDR5 SO-DIMM, PCIe Gen5, and 2x 2.5GbE LAN. Year 2022 in review – Top 10 posts and statistics

It’s the last day of the year and the time to look at some of the highlights of 2022, some traffic statistics from CNX Software website, and speculate on what 2023 may bring us. The semiconductors shortage continued in 2022, but things are looking brighter in 2023 with the full reopening of the world mixed with forecasts of difficult economic times that should keep the demand/supply equation in check. On the Arm processor front the biggest news of the year, at least in this corner of the Internet, was the launch of the Rockchip RK3588 octa-core Cortex-A76/A55 processor together with interesting single board computers that we’ll discuss below. Announced last year, the Amlogic A311D2 octa-core Cortex-A73/A53 was finally made available in a few SBC’s, and we finally got some news about the Amlogic S928X Cortex-A76/A55 SoC showcased in 8K TV boxes, but we have yet to see it in action. Business card-sized SBC ships with Intel Core Tiger Lake or AMD Ryzen V2000 processor

We’ve recently reviewed the UP 4000 SBC as a more powerful x86 alternative to Raspberry Pi 4, but if it still does not cut it, AAEON de next-TGU8 or de next-V2K8 should, as the business card-sized single board computers (SBC) are equipped with respectively an Intel Tiger Lake processor up to a Core i7-1185G7E, and an AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 SoC up to Ryzen Embedded V2516. AAEON has just introduced the UP Xtreme i12 single board computer (SBC) with Intel 12th generation Alder Lake-P hybrid SoC with up to 12 cores/16 threads, up to 32GB LPDDR5 memory, support for four 4Kp60 displays, and equipped with high-speed interfaces such as USB 4.0 and 2.5 GbE. Some industries require long-term support of hardware, and DFI’s EC70A-TGU rugged embedded computer could fit the bill as the Tiger Lake IOTG processor used in this model has a 15-Year CPU life cycle guaranteeing availability until Q3 2035. MSI MS-98M3 3.5-inch SBC is made for autonomous mobile robots

MSI is better known for its consumer-grade motherboard and mini PCs, but they also have a division called MSI IPC (industrial PC) that makes embedded hardware such as the MS-98M3 3.5-inch single board computer (SBC) powered by an Intel Tiger Lake UP3 processor and designed for autonomous mobile robots (AMR).
