Aoluguya M1 Intel HDMI Stick Dual Boots Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4

When MeegoPad T01 was first unveiled, we were all promised an Intel PC in stick form factor that can dual boot Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4, but when the product and its competitors all ended up shipping with Windows 8.1 only. Since then people have managed to install Ubuntu (with caveats) and Android on Intel Atom Z3735F, but instructions may not be easy to follow for everybody. MINIX also launched NEO Z64A running Android 4.4, but so far, I had not seen any such devices actually shipping with a firmware that dual boots Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4. Aoluguya M1 TV Sticks claims to change that, as it ships with both operating systems. Aloguya M1 hardware specifications look quite similar to other Bay Trail TV sticks: SoC – Intel Atom Z3735F  “Bay Trail” quad core processor @ 1.33 GHz (Bust freq: 1.83 GHz) with Intel HD graphics Gen 7 (2W […]

Giveaway Week – Nagrace HPH NT-V6 Android TV Box

That’s the beginning of the new giveaway week that will take place between on March 9 – 15, with one device given away every day. I’ll start with a bang with Nagrace HPH-NTV6, an Android TV box powered by Rockchip RK3288 SoC with 4GB RAM and 32GB Flash. In my initial HPH NT-V6 review, I found the device to have very good performance, but at the time XBMC support was rather weak on RK3288, and the device had serious Ethernet issues. Since then XBMC / Kodi / SPMC has greatly improves, and the company recently released a new firmware that fixes the critical Ethernet performance bug, so in 2015 it has become a much better device. There’s also a Ubuntu / Android dual boot image. You can check out HPH NT-V6 unboxing post for more pictures. To enter the draw simply leave a comment below. Other rules are as follows: […]

ZRRO Android Game Console Includes a Hover and Touch Controller (Crowdfunding)

Android games are fun to play… on smartphones and tablets, but if you want to play such games on a TV screen via an Android mini PC, it can become more problematic, as most of the games were designed for touchscreen, so you have to be prepare to juggle between input devices.. In my reviews, I have to play Candy Crush Saga with an air mouse, and I switch to a wireless gamepad for racing games such as Riptide GP2 or Beach Buggy Racing, while some games are simply not playable at all without touch emulation, unless you install a software remote such as Droidmote on your smartphone, and use the latter as a controller, which may not be ideal either. ZRRO, an Israeli company, came with a new package comprised of an Android game console (ZRRO Box), and a game controller (ZRRO Pad) featuring a hover and touch surface […]
