The maker of Rippl-TV media player are back with Rippl-TV V2 featuring Amlogic S905 quad core Cortex A53 processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB flash, but the most interesting part of this device is probably on the software side with support for two launchers: Rippl-TV and an Android TV-like launcher, as well as support for Winevine L1 DRM allowing for HD playback of online video services such as Netflix, and Google Cast. Rippl-TV V2 have 2 X Intergrated Launchers, One is AndroidTV Launcher, one is Rippl-TV player. And The Rippl-TV player is one of the most widely used pieces of software in the world built with historic XBMC/KODI ecosystem, making it fully compatible with all add-ons and services. The Rippl-TV Player stands out because it is fully integrated into the operating system. It is a match made in heaven-the way the developers tuned the player into a full-fledged optional launcher that flows with Lollipop Android as if it was the main interface. It has option of being a launcher to go directly into after boot or used as an App. Android System and player settings, Android and KODI add-ons, emulators and android App can all be launched inside the Rippl-TV player. It is playback compatibilities include all the things required for the future of media including HEVC 4K2K@60fps, making it perfect for the new HDMI2.0 port in the V2 hardware.
And have professional team to support Rippl-TV V2.

RIPPL-TV V2 did a great improvement and upgrading based on the V1. The new V2 is more easier to use, no need to learn more. 2x launchers are TV-friendly. The Rippl-TV Player can be as one launcher built with Android System and player settings, Android and XBMC/KODI add-ons, emulators and android App.
And another AndroidTV launched integrated Google Cast.
Rippl TV V2 team members are from USA and China.

  3. Yes, 1GB RAM is poor. What about HD-Audio, did it support it through HDMI? This is important for many users.
    What is “Winevine L1 DRM”?!

    1. Thats the drm needed for netflix app and some other on demand apps. 1GB for 90$… wow just wow…

  4. More details about DRM:

In the future we know that more will go this route for higher resolution drm media so we are going to work hard on obtaining hdcp as well as play ready licenses in which currently we do not have. Our widevine is L1 (can see in system/vendor and as you can see from watching the HD 1080 videos which is only allowed on this level – but the mediadrm+secureOS has an issue we are trying to figure out in the SDK where it gets labeled as l3. We will try to get this handled as soon as possible as soon as we fix up our secureOS which is broken for us. It is a requirement for the TV app of netflix (no other is found) but fine on the mobile and allows 1080p, you can also test google videos which has free videos. On other devices with l3 it only plays 480 and looks grainy, on our device its 1080 and very beautiful as well as other drm applications.

  5. They work on an Firmwareupgrade to solve some small bugs, we sell it with this bugs and deliver to our customer later the upgrade for the new firmware, we also integrated some features for the Europeen market.

  6. I never will buy again a Rippl-TV: no support at all!
I have a V1 and I enjoyed it a little: but no support, FB page disappered, no reply to mail, NO FIRMWARE UPGRADE!
Unless you want buy a V1, V2,V3 every year…. this product is useless!

Other brands have forum, support, regular firmware updates….
