Very interesting hardware. Just hoping it will run on linux mainline fine. Probably nobody has any experience with this yet?
There is video of the Sunchip devices on Youtube and a RK3399 box gets mentioned.
Sunchip shows their latest RK3399 Hexacore 64bit dual ARM Cortex-A72 with quad ARM Cortex-A53 with Sata port, USB Type-C and USB3
This is no TV Box chipset. So no HDR, HD-Audio and so on…
Well looking at its price on pre-order on Gearbest will the claimed 2GHz speed and A72 tempt people over falling price Amlogic S912 boxes
Wonder if different GPU and software support will be the decider
Or claimed faster usb 3 and type – C interface, will usb 3 faster transfers be effective in real use.
I hope there is no sneaky speed crippled chip like in rockchip past, who remenbers RK3188 spec devices being sold with actually slower RK 3188T Soc inside, and they had terrible video problems too. I sent one back through eBay and Paypal so got money back.
I am waiting to read CNX authoratives boxs tests on RK3399 devices before I decide on this chip. Don’t know what others think?
You should take a look at the specs.
There is something new. http://www.cnx-software.com/2017/02/16/140-r-tv-box-k99-android-6-0-mini-pc-comes-with-rockchip-rk3399-soc-4gb-ram-32gb-storage/
İt has 4gb lprr4 ram and 64 emmc. Which one should i prefer?
I’ve tested DDR3 vs DDR4 on Amlogic S912, and it did not make any difference, but maybe on RK3399 with a faster Cortex A72 cores, it will have an impact.
You’d better wait for the first reviews before deciding on a specific model.
i will wait for your reviews of yundoo y8 and t96z .i’ve already ordered Voyo v1 and 8 GB 1866mhz ram.
