DAQiFi Nyquist 1 is a battery-powered IoT data acquisition (DAQ) device that works over an 802.11n Wi-Fi connection or a USB interface, and can also log the data to a microSD card

Equipped with 16 digital I/Os and 16 analog inputs, the Nyquist 1 can be used with all sorts of sensors to measure force and strain, pressure, temperature, current & voltage, luminosity, weight, pH
angular velocity, and more. It’s also possible to connect multiple Nyquist 1 devices to a single PC instead of following the traditional method of having one dedicated PC plugged into each data acquisition solution.

DAQiFi says Windows and Android client beta apps are available with iOS planned, as well as Java API being worked on. We’re also told drivers and APIs are available to interface with 3rd party software such as Node-RED, NI LabVIEW, or Wolfram Mathematica, and source code and design files can be found on the company’s Github account. Just a little problem at the time of writing: “This organization has no public repositories.” DAQiFi told CNX Software Github should be updated sometime this week.

In the meantime, we can still watch the video below to better understand the device’s data acquisition capabilities, notably IoT data sampling over Wi-Fi and USB.

DAQiFi launched the NyQuist 1 on Crowd Supply with a symbolic $1 funding target. A pledge of $199 is asked for a Nyquist 1 DAQ, a 3-meter USB cable, a US power adapter, and a pair of pluggable terminal blocks. There’s also a $349 buy one give one option with one going to the backer and the other to a student or academic lab that needs one. Shipping is included in the price, and backers should expect their rewards to ship by the end of February 2023. If you check out the company website, you’ll notice Nyquist 2 and 3 are also planned with respectively “high-resolution analog sampling and analog out capabilities” and ” full 10V compatibility and simultaneous analog sampling”.

  1. Judging by the picture, should be “Equipped with 16 digital I/Os and 16 analog inputs,…” I guess?
