Giveaway Week 2023 – Elecrow ESP32 Terminal with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display and OV2640 camera

If I remember correctly, Elecrow sent me an end-of-year gift with a notebook (paper style), a pen, and a 3.5-inch ESP32 terminal. I had completely forgotten about it, and while wondering what I would give for Giveaway Week 2023, and looking around in drawers and on shelves, I found an “ESP32 Terminal” package, and I was like “What the F is that and where is it coming from?”.

Long story short, the 6th prize of this year’s giveaway week is Elecrow’s ESP32 Terminal with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that also comes with a front-facing OV2640 camera and six Crowtail connectors for expansion plus a LiPo battery connector.

I’d ship the terminal with its USB-C cable as shown in the first photo. The company provides a wiki with instructions explaining how to use the ESP32 device with Arduino, SquareLine, PlatformIO, MicroPython, and ESP-IDF. Whenever practical, I always try to test review samples before offering them to avoid disappointment (and embarrassment), and Elecrow’s ESP32 terminal boots to a graphics demo.

It’s a demo based on the popular LVGL library that showcases the display and touchscreen capabilities. You’ll find a video demo below showing what it looks like and how to re-flash it yourself if needed.

To enter the draw simply leave a comment with your country and whatever else you’d like to say (no links in the body of the comment). If the country is missing, I’ll consider the entry void. Other rules are as follows:

  • Only one entry per contest. I will filter out entries with the same IP and/or email address.
  • Contests are open for 48 hours starting at 10 a.m. (Bangkok time) every day.
  • Comments will be closed after 48 hours. If comments are open, the contest is still going on.
  • Winners will be selected with random.org and announced in the comments section of each giveaway.
  • I’ll contact the winner by email, and I’ll expect an answer within 24 hours, or I’ll pick another winner. Note that I may not be able to contact people who log in with Facebook, Twitter, or Google, so it’s better to use an email address to enter the draw.
  • Shipping
    • $12 for registered airmail small packet or ePacket for overseas shipping payable via PayPal within 48 hours once the contest (for a given product) is complete. If PayPal is not an option in your country, we can try to find another payment solution.
    • All prizes will be shipped at the same time once we get all the winners, so around November 15.
  • I’ll make sure we have 7 different winners, so if you have already won a device during this giveaway week, I’ll draw another person.

If you don’t end up being lucky, you can always purchase Elecrow ESP32 Terminal on their shop for about $36 plus shipping.
