SZBOX DS135D – A dual-screen laptop with an Intel Processor N100 CPU

A few companies have been making dual-screen laptops – where one of the screens is placed where you’d typically find the keyboard and touchpad – for several years, and this type of design was brought back to the forefront with the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i introduced earlier this year with two 13.3-inch displays and a 13th-gen Intel Core Raptor Lake-U processor for $2,000 and up.

If you like the concept but don’t quite have that much money to spare, SZBOX DS135D dual-screen laptop is a much cheaper option with two 13.5-inch displays, an entry-level Intel Processor N100 SoC, 16GB DDR5, and 128GB to 2TB NVMe SSD going for $699 and up on Aliexpress.

Although the first photo appears to contradict that, the dual-screen laptop is said to ship with Windows 11. It might be possible to use it with Linux with the main question marks being support for the wireless module and we are not told which one is used inside the laptop so there’s no way to tell, and while driving the two displays should be no problem the software required to make those interact in a useful may not be there…

The specifications are far from complete, but the DS135D laptop only comes with a minimum number of ports namely two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm audio jack, and nothing else so a USB-C dock will likely be a compulsory accessory for most people.

 

There’s no keyboard and touchpad because the second display can be used for this purpose, and I’d assume it would feel like typing on a tablet. Alternatively, it’s possible to use the laptop as a book with two sides using the touchscreen as the interface or an external keyboard and mouse or stylus.

It’s unclear whether tent mode with two users each facing a different screen is possible, as SZBOX did not share any photos to prove that. In order words, we don’t know if the laptop comes with a 360° hinge, or whether it’s limited to 180°.
