8-inch mini laptop is powered by an Intel Processor N95 Alder Lake-N SoC

A mini laptop with an 8-inch touchscreen display, powered by an Intel Processor N100 N95 Alder Lake-N SoC coupled with 12GB LPDDR5, and an up to 2TB SSD has started to show up on Aliexpress for $350 and up.

We’ve covered several devices powered by Intel Alder Lake-N processors including mini PCs, laptops, motherboards, and even a system-on-module, but we had not seen an Alder Lake-N “mini laptop”, so let’s have a closer look at this white brand mini laptop.

Alder Lake-N mini laptop

It looks like the laptop ships with a 30W power adapter and 1024-level pressure level stylus, but it’s hard to confirm… The Processor N95 mini laptop is said to ship with Windows 10 21H2 with support for native Android apps, and users who want to upgrade to Windows 11 are told they can do it themselves. There’s no word about Linux, so it might or might not work depending on driver support.

Some of the photos show features that don’t seem to be available such as a “KVM control module”, and at one point I was confused as the product page on Aliexpress shows a photo of GPD Pocket 3 right under this mini PC, but that is for another promotion. However, Liliputing does note that one of the illustrations was taken straight from GPD marketing materials and the mini laptop photos may have been altered to make it look thinner than it really is.

That means the specifications may not be fully accurate besides being incomplete, so that’s something to keep in mind if you go ahead and purchase a unit.

[Updated: The Aliexpress page initially listed the processor as Processor N100, but Liliputing updated their article after confirming it is powered by an Intel Processor N95 instead]

    1. Yes, but people don’t seem to care that it’s unusable — it’s small and so cute. Fashion over function.

A 10″ laptop is about the smallest keyboard I would even consider — and the keys are still cramped.

      1. At least it can be used in a tablet mode.

I haven’t used anything smaller than 11.6″. I would want to try before I buy, which is likely impossible with some shady China special.

  1. If I had to guess, “high definition” refers to 720p since that’s what it means officially. “Full high definition” (FHD) would be 1080p and so on.

  2. I’m not going there, no matter how much I want to “satisfy the avant-garde and exquisite life attitude of the chasing newcomers”! But I am really curious, where is the space bar? Is it possible that the buttons labelled “left mouse button” and “Right click” are actually the space bar, and the buttons _below_ the labelled buttons are the mouse buttons?

  3. It shall have a huge demand in India particularly amongst the advocates and Courts, ofcourse if it comes within Rs. 15000/- as 15000/- plus has many lapbooks and others

  4. Hi, tey told me that has 1280*800 resolution. What do You thing? Could be almost a Little good. I mean, for tis screen lime regular tablet of 8 inch.

    1. The N100 should crush the J4125. Like +75% faster with some better features. N100 also has double the graphics EU count, AV1 decode, etc.

      1. Ok, Thanks but they confirm me that is N 95, but stil better than J415? The besel are more larve than in the photo but they sens me real photo and they seems to be lime gpd poker 3. My problem îs bold quality If IT sould resist in timp and not just broke one dat later…

    2. J4125 -> N5005 -> J6413 -> ????

      ???? is one of N95 / N100 / N200. Most probably N100 will seduce the market.

Performance difference between is N5005 and J6413 is negligible and difference between J6413 and N100 is not clear form initial benchmarks yet, but it is much newer CPU and has several benefits. There is no need to go J4125 in 2023 for newer devices, I think.

  5. I got one with a N100, however the display does not work under Linux. It seems the I915 driver reads the VBT wrong or the VBT is just wrong. Their support says they don’t support Linux but they will try to put me in contact with their engineers so maybe I can get it working.
