The Wio Tracker L1 Pro is a battery-powered LoRa node pre-flashed with the Meshtastic firmware for low-power off-grid messaging and GPS coordinates sharing. It integrates a Semtech SX1262 LoRa module for wireless data transmission and uses a Nordic nRF52840 Bluetooth 5.0 SoC to process and display the data.
The L1 Pro also features a 1.3-inch OLED display, a rechargeable battery, a USB Type-C port, and a solar panel connector housed in a durable 3D-printed enclosure. It is fully compatible with the Grove ecosystem and offers expansion via PTH headers and an SWD interface.

The Wio Tracker L1 Pro comes pre-flashed with the open-source Meshtastic firmware for seamless setup for long-range, low-power mesh communication right out of the box. The firmware can be updated or customized via USB or over-the-air (OTA) updates for flexibility.

The Wio Tracker L1 Series comes in four versions. The Lite version has LoRa and GPS but no screen or case—great if you want something simple for development. The regular L1 adds a small 1.3-inch OLED for basic display. The L1 Pro includes the same OLED, but adds a built-in 2000mAh battery and a case as a ready-to-use solution. The E-Ink version swaps the OLED for a low-power 2.13-inch E-Ink screen that’s easier to read in bright sunlight. All of them come with Meshtastic pre-installed, support LoRa (862–930 MHz), GPS, Bluetooth, and can run on USB, solar, or battery power. More information about the products and instructions to get started can be found on the wiki.
We had written about Seeed Studio’s Wio Tracker platforms in the past, including the very first Wio Tracker with GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and GSM connectivity, which we reviewed in 2017, and more recently, we covered the Wio Tracker 1110 dev kit designed to work with the Meshtastic network. There are now plenty of ready-to-use Meshtastic devices like the battery-powered Wio Tracker L1 Pro, such as the very similar ESP32-S3-based ThinkNode M2 Meshtastic handset by Elecrow (review coming soon), LILYGO T-Deck Pro and T-Deck Plus with Blackberry vibes, Rakwireless WisMesh TAP with a touchscreen display, the compact S5 Trekker, and many others.
The Wio Tracker L1 Pro can be directly purchased from the Seeed Studio store for $39.90 or $43.54 on AliExpress.
