The third giveaway week, and the second in 2015, on CNX Software is now complete. I’ve just sent the packages this morning, including 4 Android TV boxes, 2 Linux media players, and a development board to the winners from Europe, North America, and for the first time, Oceania.
The winners were selected randomly from the list of people who comments, and without any further due, here are the results:
let’s go through the winners and their country of residence, with links to the original individual winner announcements:
- Zidoo X6 Pro – Marko, Slovenia
- ARNU Box Mach Q Pure Linux – Xavier, Belgium
- M-195 TV box – Fran, Spain
- A80 OptimusBoard development board – Gil, Portugal
- M8S TV box – Roel, Belgium
- Tronfy Telos MXIV – Treb “winners are grinners”, Australia
- Popcorn Hour VTEN – ax, USA
While last time, people living in Canadians were the luckiest, this giveaway was kind to people living in Belgium.
The parcels have been send via registered Small Packet Airmail, and while it might take a few weeks, the winners should hopefully receive them before Christmas, barring some nasty custom officers… Let’s do it sometimes again in 2016!
Jean-Luc started CNX Software in 2010 as a part-time endeavor, before quitting his job as a software engineering manager, and starting to write daily news, and reviews full time later in 2011.

Thanks for the contest. Congratulations to the lucky winners.
Its look only people from west get selected
@mallikarjun
Out of the 22 devices, I’ve given away so far I’ve only sent one to Asia (Singapore). This is decided by random.org, not by me though.
Odds favor Europe because of traffic. For the last 30 days:
Europe – 49%, Americas – 25%, Asia – 21.44%, Oceania – 2.60%, Africa – 1.47%.
I don’t have statistics for the people who entered the contests, so the stats might be a little different. Maybe PayPal requirement was a problem for a few people in Asia. I was expecting at least one winner from Thailand, since shipping is free, but nope.
thank you for the giveaway.. even though I did not win anything 🙂
Thanks for the contest! Now I’m pretty sure, that random.org hates me… 🙂
Thank you for the nice giveaway.
Congratulations to the winners…thanks for putting on the giveaway!
This giveaway was a nice gesture from you.
Thank you 😉
@mallikarjun
True. Was about to say the same. This is unfair.
Congrats to the winners! Thanks for the giveaway Jean-Luc!
Congrats to the winners, and thanks again for your nice site AND ofcourse for this chance to participate 🙂 !
Congrats to the winners and many thanks for this site and the social networking threads you provide for our edification on this stuff. Having boots on the ground matters.
@Malek
One may argue that CNXsoft is cheating on us, or, at least, is incompetent! 😉
You see, every giveaway had more than 200 comments, but only have been chosen two digits ones, i.e. people who had apply within the first 100 comments…
Strange, isn’t it ?
Thanks for organizing this!
Thanks for the givaways! Keep up the good habbits! 😉
nice to see the final results!
farang jaidee! 😀
What an amazing offer!
Jean-Luc,
I received the M8S already some time ago, but didn’t have the time to look at it. Now I did and already changed the firmware to openelec. Works like a charm, the only minus is that there is some problem with the hdmi connector, the hdmi cable should be in a certain position otherwise the device keeps on rebooting…
I will start using it as my main openelec box to replace my hd18m with J1nx-xbmc on it. I will try now to get debian on the hd18m to use for other purposes.
