SolidRun RZ/G2LC SOM is powered by Renesas RZ/G2LC processor for AI-enhanced HMI applications

SolidRun RZ/G2LC SOM is a system-on-module based on Renesas RZ/G2LC single or dual-core Cortex-A55/M33 processor and designed for AI-enhanced human-machine-interface (HMI) applications, industrial and building automation, video surveillance, IoT, etc…

The module is also equipped with 1GB DDR4 RAM, 8GB eMMC flash, and a wireless module with dual-band WiFi 4 and with Bluetooth 4.2 all packed into a tiny footprint measuring just 47 x 30mm that makes it suitable for space-constrained devices such as video doorbells and compact IP cameras.

SolidRun will offer long-term Linux support through the Renesas CIP Linux distribution that gets updates for at least 10 years once a processor is released. SolidRun RZ/G2LC SOM is pin-to-pin compatible with the company’s NXP i.MX8 Mini SOM so customers can switch between the two as needed for a specific application, and the new SoM also works with the Hummingboard Pulse carrier board. An RZ/G2LC Starter Kit is also in the works, but no details are available at this time.

That is likely based on this device support for 10BASE-T1L which allows for a single pair to provide both power and data.
