Intel Apollo Lake HDMI TV Sticks Are Starting to Sell for $100

Last April, we discovered an early prototype of BBen mini computer, an HDMI TV Stick based on Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake processor that was supposed to start selling in July. It may have been delayed a little, but MeeGoPad T11 model is already listed on Alibaba, and ECDREAM A9 model on both Alibaba and Amazon US, where it is sold for $189 with free shipping (from China). MeegoPad T8 TV Stick Supports Dual Displays via HDMI and USB type C Ports

MeegoPad T8 was a Windows 10 mini projector in 2015, but time has passed, and the company has now decided to use the same name for a Windows 10 HDMI TV stick supporting two displays thanks to the usual HDMI 1.4 male port, as well as a USB -C port with DisplayPort capability. MeegoPad A02 Remix OS TV Stick Has Now Launched on Indiegogo for $39 and Up

MeegoPad A02 octa-core Remix OS first launched in China for as low as 199 CNY ($30), and the company has raised around 107,000 RMB (~$16,300 US) so far. In the meantime, they’ve also launched the product on Indiegogo for a ~25% markup for cheapest pledge as the 1GB RAM/16GB Flash is offered for $39 + shipping, instead of $30 + shipping in China. In the second part of 2014, we saw a big jump in performance thanks to Cortex A15 and A17 based SoCs, and higher clocked Cortex A9 processors such as Rockchip RK3288 and Amlogic S812, but in 2015, TV box companies have focused on lowering the price and adding features such as HDMI 2.0, instead of looking for higher and higher CPU and GPU performance, and they’ve also moved to 64-bit ARM platform. Intel also continued its foray into low cost HDMI sticks and mini PCbased on Bay Trail, and later on Cherry Trail based devices. MeegoPad T07 Cherry Trail TV Stick with 4GB RAM Costs $109 (Crowdfunding)

There was some confused when MeegoPad T05, T06 and T07 Cherry Trail TV dongles details surfaced with specifications changing from sites to sites. One forum post on x86pad.com, clarified MeegoPad products line up, including a new MeegoPad T08 Cherry Trail projector with battery. MeegoPad T05, T06, T07 HDMI TV Sticks Feature Intel Atom X5 Processors, 2 to 4 GB RAM

Most low cost mini PCs based on Bay Trail or Cherry Trail processor come with only 2GB RAM, which may limit what you can do on such device, and limits multi-tasking abilities. MeegoPad T05 and T06 HDMI sticks will allow you to do more thanks to 4GB RAM connected to a quad core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 a x5-Z8500 processors, while MeegoPad T07 is still limited to 2GB RAM, and features the same x5-Z8300 processor found in Tronsmart Ara X5.
