AMD RYZEN Embedded MINI-ITX SBC

The board is designed for industrial PC systems, image and video processing, Panel PC and embedded systems, as well as gaming. ICP does not mention anything about software, but we should expect support for Windows and Linux operating systems.

There’s an “IEI” sticker on the fan, and as noted by LinuxGizmos “the board appears to be manufactured by IEI, which distributes its systems in Europe via ICP”.  You’ll find all four boards on ICP website with sample pricing apparently available after login (but registration failed for me).

  1. Dude, ryzen 4000 series cpus are out, and 5000 series CPUs are spotted. Why are you giving age old news? These boards are not even last gen, they’re the gen before last gen!

    1. 4000 series is Zen2 laptop / desktop APU.
5000 series will be Zen3 laptop / desktop APU. No released yet.

R1000/V1000 series is embedded Zen 1.
V2000 series will be embedded Zen 2, allegedly for Q4 2020. Leaks about it have started.

So yes R1000 shows its age now. An R5 3400g (Zen +1) will leave a V1605B in the dust in certain tasks for example. On the other hand a V1605B TDP is 12-25W while 3400g TDP is 65W. Usually a R1000/V1000 series-based motherboard will include 4 display ports / HDMI for signage applications for instance. AMD including 10 GbE ports with the V1000 series but nobody cared to use them, my guess is that the V2000 series will not include 10 GbE.

The embedded series is different from the APU series intended for different types of application so it is not entirely accurate to compare them.

  2. And the one-sie price is ???
It is soooo annoying when a single unit price is not given.

I mentally substitute $200-$500 whenever I see that.
I want sub $100, or maybe even $150 for a dual gigabit interface.

    1. Most of these boards are $500++, a few of them are slightly under $500. If you need x86-based power on an SBC go with an Odroid H2+ or a main stream mini-itx with an Intel or AMD APU, unless you also need what comes with an industrial SBC.
