Elkhart Lake COM Express Compact Type 6
TQMxE40C2 Block Diagram

The COM Express Type 6 modules have similar specs to the COM Express Mini module, except they offer more PCIe interfaces (8 vs 4), two DisplayPort output, instead of just one.

TQ Group offers evaluation/development kit for all four types of modules including MB-COME10-2 carrier board for COM Express Mini and MB-SMARC-3 SMARC 2.1 motherboard. The company did not provide information about OS/software support, but we should expect the usual support for Windows 10 (IoT) and Linux distributions.

Despite the photos only showing the COM Express Type 6 modules to be coming soon, all four Elkhart Lake CoM’s are expected to launch in Q1/Q2 2021 once Intel latest IoT Edge processors get into mass-production. More details may be found in the press release that links to the product pages of the modules covered in this post.
