TRITON-TX8M i.MX8M Mini / Nano Modules & Devkits Support Linux, Windows 10 IoT Core, and (Soon) QNX 7.0

UK-based Direct Insight has recently unveiled TRITON-TX8M system-on-module (SoM) powered by NXP i.MX 8M Mini or Nano processor, coupled with up to 2048MB DDR3L and a 4GB eMMC flash.

The tiny (68 x 26 mm) SODIMM module is pin-compatible with the company’s earlier TRITON-TX i.MX6 / i.MX8 module family, and currently support Linux and Windows 10 IoT Core, with a QNX 7.0 BSP in the works.

Mainboard-7 with 10.1″ Display

The Mainboard-7 includes dual SD/MMC card sockets, 2x RS232, RS485, USB OTG & Host connectors, an Ethernet connector as well as LVDS display, while the TX8MDK carrier board is equipped with an integrated 10.1″ 1280 x 800 touch-screen display, a mini-PCIe socket, Ethernet, MIPI-CSI, a microSD slot as well as a 120-pin expansion header. Both kits include an audio codec
with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Toolchains, Linux source code, and schematics for both carrier boards are provided to help customers get started with their own designs. The i.MX8M Mini Quad module ships pre-loaded with either Linux (Yocto Project-based) or Windows 10 IoT Core, but the i.MX 8M Nano Dual version currently only supports Linux. Eventually, all versions will support Linux, Win10 IoT core, and QNX 7.0.

The modules and development kits appear to be available now, but pricing is not public, so you’d have to request a quote to find out. You can do so on the product page.
